Connecting an assistant
You can let an assistant read your Bottle data and answer questions about it: who has not ordered in three weeks, which customers are on prepaid, what is on the round today.
Connecting one
Section titled “Connecting one”Go to Connections, find the assistant, and follow How to connect. You will be asked to sign in and to choose:
- Which business it may reach. One at a time.
- What it may do. Only what you can do yourself is on offer.
Nothing happens until you agree, and you can take it away at any time.
What it can and cannot do
Section titled “What it can and cannot do”An assistant acts for you, so it never gets more than you have. It can read what you allowed. It counts against your business’s request limits like everything else (see Plans and billing). It cannot manage API keys, and it cannot change or promote an owner.
If your role changes, so does the connection. Demoted to driver, and the assistant can do what a driver can do. Removed from the business, and it stops working the same minute.
Disconnecting
Section titled “Disconnecting”Connections, then Disconnect on the tile. It stops immediately, and whoever connected it would have to do so again.
Changing what it can do
Section titled “Changing what it can do”Open Connections, find the app, and press Change under what it can do. Untick anything you would rather it could not reach and save. It loses that access immediately, without being disconnected and without anybody having to set it up again.
Allowing more works the other way round. Permissions are granted on the app’s own screen by the person connecting it, so Bottle cannot add one on your behalf. The tile names any permission you could allow; to grant it, reconnect Bottle inside Claude or ChatGPT and tick it when the consent screen asks.
Two other things happen on their own. Change somebody’s role and every connection they made narrows to match, immediately. Remove them from the business and their connections stop working.
